Larissa: Two Georgian burglars arrested after 149,000 euro theft spree
Two Georgian nationals, aged 40 and 42, were arrested in Larissa, Greece, after a series of professional burglaries. The suspects were caught red-handed in the stairwell of a sixth-floor apartment after a security camera alerted the homeowner via a mobile application while he was on vacation.
Police investigations revealed that the duo, described as experts in lock-picking and the use of master keys, carried out at least 10 burglaries between August 7 and August 20. The total value of the stolen goods, which includes cash in euros, US dollars, and British pounds, as well as jewelry, is estimated to exceed 149,000 euros.
One of the suspects had previously been released from prison in November 2025. Following their appearance before a prosecutor, both individuals were remanded in custody. Authorities are continuing to investigate the possibility of additional accomplices involved in the organized crime ring.
