Larnaca 2030 to host Neighborhood Festival in October

The Larnaca 2030 organization, which is campaigning for the title of European Capital of Culture 2030, will host the ‘Neighborhood’ festival on October 30-31. The event will take place in the Agioi Anargyroi neighborhood as part of the Mahalart 2026 program.

During the two-day event, local streets, courtyards, and squares will be transformed into spaces for co-creation. Activities include performances, visual and sound installations, photography exhibitions, workshops, musical events, and participatory walks. The festival follows a month-long residency where eight Mediterranean artists lived and worked within the neighborhood to create art based on local narratives and collective memory.

The initiative is part of the MedSEA: Socially Engaged Arts in the Mediterranean Area project, co-funded by the European Union’s Creative Europe program. The project aims to bring contemporary artistic creation to refugee neighborhoods, fostering new connections between residents, artists, and public spaces.
