Larnaca authorities investigate apartment complex complaints
Authorities in Larnaca have convened a multi-agency meeting to address a series of complaints regarding an apartment complex. The meeting, held at the Larnaca Police Directorate, included representatives from the Police, the Ministry of Migration and International Protection, Social Welfare Services, Health Services, the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC), and local municipal and district authorities.
Larnaca Police Director Ioannis Kapnoulas stated that the objective is to investigate all submitted complaints and determine if criminal offenses have occurred. The investigation will involve coordinated actions by the various agencies to inspect the premises and the individuals residing there.
Recent complaints include allegations from property owners who claim that unauthorized individuals are occupying apartments they purchased, allegedly through third-party agreements. Additionally, the management committee has reported issues involving illegal subletting without owner consent, unauthorized utility connections, and the theft of electricity and water. A separate investigation is also underway regarding alleged threats made against the president of the complex's management committee.
