Larry David's HBO Max show features star‑studded historical guest cast

Larry David has launched a new sketch comedy series on HBO Max, "Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness," which blends American history with contemporary humor. Each episode includes more than a dozen celebrity guest stars portraying historic figures, from former President Barack Obama (who also serves as an executive producer through Higher Ground Productions) to Samuel L. Jackson, Lin‑Manuel Miranda, Jerry Seinfeld, Jon Hamm, Henry Winkler, and many others.

The series, which follows the conclusion of "Curb Your Enthusiasm," airs Fridays at 9 p.m. and streams on HBO Max. The debut episode, "Livingston," featured Obama as himself, Jackson as the narrator, and a lineup of characters such as John Hancock, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson and Rosa Parks, establishing the show's high‑profile cast and historical premise.
