Oracle transitions to new co-CEOs amid leadership and pay ratio shifts
Oracle Corporation is undergoing significant leadership and financial shifts. Following the departure of CEO Safra Catz in September 2025, Clayton Magouyrk and Mike Sicilia have assumed the role of co-CEOs. A recent proxy filing revealed a massive CEO-to-employee pay ratio of 6,623-to-1, with Magouyrk receiving stock options valued at approximately $621.7 million.
Founder and Executive Chairman Larry Ellison has made several notable moves regarding his holdings. He recently canceled a plan to sell up to 50 million shares, valued at roughly $7.5 billion. Additionally, Ellison has increased the amount of Oracle stock pledged as collateral for personal loans to approximately 413 million shares, worth about $56.6 billion, to support family business expansions.
Financially, Oracle is pivoting toward an AI-first cloud infrastructure model. In fiscal 2026, cloud services accounted for 78% of total revenue. While the company reported strong revenue growth and a massive $664 billion revenue backlog, investors remain focused on the company’s debt-to-equity ratio and the capital expenditures required to sustain its artificial intelligence infrastructure expansion.
