Larry Fitzgerald enters Hall of Fame as father passes away

Larry Fitzgerald, the Arizona Cardinals' longtime wide receiver, will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday in Canton, Ohio, as part of the 2026 first‑ballot class. Over his 17‑year career he amassed 17,492 receiving yards, set the NFL single‑postseason record with 546 yards in 2008, and helped the Cardinals reach Super Bowl XLIII.

Fitzgerald’s father, Larry Fitzgerald Sr., died on June 1 after a brief illness. The senior Fitzgerald had hoped to present his son at the ceremony, but his son Devin, a freshman receiver at Notre Dame, will instead accept the honor on his behalf.
