Larry Fitzgerald to be inducted into Arizona Cardinals Ring of Honor
Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald will be inducted into the franchise’s Ring of Honor this Sunday at State Farm Stadium. The ceremony will take place during halftime of the team’s game against the Denver Broncos, where the team will also retire his No. 11 jersey.
Fitzgerald becomes the 20th individual to be engraved in the Cardinals’ Ring of Honor and the sixth player in franchise history to have his number retired. He joins Larry Wilson, Pat Tillman, Stan Mauldin, J. V. Cain, and Marshall Goldberg on that list.
The induction follows Fitzgerald’s recent entry into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. His inclusion has prompted discussions regarding other potential candidates for the Ring of Honor, such as Hall of Fame tight end Jackie Smith, who remains the only Hall of Famer to have played a significant portion of his career with the franchise without being inducted.
