Larry Riddle sentenced to 65 years for Florida child abuse

Larry Wayne Riddle has been sentenced to 65.65 years in prison, the maximum penalty allowed under Florida law, following his conviction on three child sexual offense charges in Sarasota County. Judge Andrea DeCanio also designated Riddle as a sexual predator.

A jury convicted Riddle of attempted sexual battery on a child under 12, solicitation of a child under 16, and lascivious exhibition on a child under 16. The offenses occurred while Riddle was staying at a vacation home in Sarasota with a family that knew him.

Prosecutors stated that Riddle exploited the family's trust to target the victim. The investigation was led by the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit after the abuse was disclosed to the child's family.
