Larry the Cable Guy recovers from appendicitis, CBS show delayed

Comedian Larry the Cable Guy, whose legal name is Daniel Lawrence Whitney, was rushed to a hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska, on the night of Thursday, July 23, after experiencing severe stomach pain. Doctors diagnosed him with appendicitis and performed surgery to remove the inflamed appendix. He was discharged on Saturday, July 25, and is now recovering at home, saying in a Facebook post, “I had major stomach pain and turns out I had appendicitis… I’m home and recovering.”

The health emergency forced a temporary pause in production of his upcoming CBS syndicated series, American Mayhem, a 52‑episode comedy‑clip show set to debut in the fall. The taping of several episodes has been postponed, though his live comedy performances are not expected to be affected. He remains in good spirits and is expected to resume work once fully recovered.
