Larry the Cat refutes reports of his death
Larry the Cat, the well-known resident of 10 Downing Street and Britain’s chief mouse catcher, has refuted reports of his death. The rumors began after the portal Politics UK reported the cat had died, a claim the outlet later retracted, stating the information came from a trusted source that had been hacked.
Larry addressed the situation via his X account, using a variation of a famous Mark Twain quote: ‘Reports of my death are greatly exaggerated.’
Larry has lived at the heart of the British government since February 2011, when he was brought from a shelter by former Prime Minister David Cameron to manage the local rat population. He has since become a public figure and tourist attraction, maintaining a social media presence with over 900,000 followers.
