Lars Klingbeil describes ‘brutal’ political work schedule
SPD leader Lars Klingbeil shared insights into his demanding professional life during an appearance on the podcast ‘Wie geht's? Mit Robin Gosens’. He described his daily routine as ‘brutal’, noting that he is often scheduled from 7:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. or midnight.
Klingbeil remarked that the political environment requires a ‘thick skin’ and that he rarely finds the opportunity to pause and reflect. He noted the difficulty of finding time to celebrate successes, citing the 2021 federal election victory of Olaf Scholz as a major achievement that was difficult to fully process due to his schedule. He emphasized that he must actively fight to secure small windows of personal time, such as occasional sporting appointments or free weekends.
