Lars Petter Hagen appointed CEO of Den Norske Opera & Ballett

Lars Petter Hagen has been appointed as the new CEO of Den Norske Opera & Ballett, effective summer 2027. Hagen, who currently serves as the director of Festspillene i Bergen, will succeed Geir Bergkastet, who is stepping down to become the county cultural manager in Innlandet.

Hagen brings extensive experience to the role, having previously served as a development manager for the Oslo Philharmonic and director for the Ultima Festival. Board Chair Sarah C. J. Willand described him as an experienced and visionary leader capable of ensuring the institution's organizational and economic stability.
