Larsen & Toubro to build India’s largest AI infrastructure facility

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured a mega order valued between Rs 10,000 and Rs 15,000 crore to construct India’s largest single-cluster artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure facility in Chennai.

In partnership with US-based cloud platform Together AI, the project will establish an ‘AI Factory’ at the Vyoma.AI data centre campus. The facility is designed to support large-scale AI model training, fine-tuning, and inference. The infrastructure will deploy approximately 10,000 GPUs based on NVIDIA’s B300 platform.

The Chennai site is being developed as a gigawatt-scale AI infrastructure site, with Phase 1 featuring a capacity of 250 MW. This project marks L&T’s official entry into the AI Factory business through its AI infrastructure arm, LTN Compute, and its AI and data centre business, Vyoma.AI.
