Urban transit disruptions reported in Mexico City, Caracas, and Bogotá

Major urban centers in Latin America are facing significant transportation disruptions due to weather and technical incidents.

In Mexico City, heavy rainfall and social demonstrations have caused widespread traffic congestion. Additionally, a metallic object on the tracks at the Taxqueña station (Line 2) caused smoke and prompted a preventive evacuation of passengers. Authorities confirmed that the smoke resulted from the use of chemical fire extinguishers to manage the object, and service has since been restored.

In Venezuela, intense rainfall has impacted the Metro de Caracas, specifically causing service suspensions at the Las Adjuntas station due to water and sediment accumulation on the tracks. Maintenance crews are working to clear the infrastructure.

In Colombia, Bogotá is experiencing heavy traffic congestion in the southwest sector, affecting TransMilenio bus services at the Portal Américas. Local authorities have implemented traffic management measures to mitigate delays.
