Las Cocuizas residents face two-month water shortage

Residents of Las Cocuizas in Maturín, Venezuela, report they have been without potable water for over 60 days. The shortage reportedly began following electrical maintenance work that caused a failure in the community's pumping system.

Affected residents stated they are forced to source water from local schools and high schools, sometimes using hoses to connect these institutions to their homes. Community members have called for the deployment of water tankers to mitigate the crisis while awaiting a permanent solution.
