Las Higueras cooperative acquires municipal solar park

The Cooperativa de Electricidad, Obras y Servicios Públicos de Las Higueras in Córdoba has acquired a municipal solar photovoltaic park and its surrounding land. The purchase, which includes over 10,000 square meters of property, was approved unanimously by members during an extraordinary assembly on October 15, 2026.

The acquisition follows an agreement between the cooperative and the municipal government, which faced difficulties in maintaining the complex of 315 photovoltaic panels. The cooperative intends to use the site to diversify its local energy matrix and as a technical training center for staff to prepare for larger-scale clean energy projects in the future.
