Las Hurdes residents return home following devastating wildfires

Residents of Las Hurdes have begun returning to their homes following a period of evacuation caused by intense wildfires. While the return brings relief to the community, many are facing a landscape deeply transformed by the flames, including charred vegetation and destroyed property. In the hamlet of Avellanar, three homes were reported destroyed.

Emergency teams have worked to stabilize the situation, and the fire was declared stabilized late Friday. The return of residents was authorized progressively, with some restrictions remaining in areas where emergency services continue to operate.
