Las Pirámides owners face 700 million peso seizure for land usurpation

Federal Judge Guillermo Díaz Martínez has processed Próspero Marcelo Sosa and his son Marcio Sosa for their involvement in the ‘Las Pirámides’ real estate development, which was built on land belonging to the Universidad Nacional de Tucumán (UNT) in San Javier.

The court ordered asset seizures totaling 700 million pesos: 500 million from Próspero Sosa and 200 million from Marcio Sosa. Próspero Sosa faces charges of land usurpation through dispossession, fraud by estelionato, and aggravated damage to public property. Marcio Sosa has been attributed secondary involvement in the usurpation and damages.

Investigations conducted by federal prosecutor Agustín Chit revealed that the development expanded significantly between 2019 and 2024, growing from 25 finished homes to approximately 70 constructions. The land in question has been part of the UNT since 1948. The ruling allows both individuals to remain free while the legal process continues.
