Las Torres wins Azuqueca de Henares Float Parade

The peña Las Torres won the 49th edition of the Azuqueca de Henares Float Parade with their entry, ‘El cascanueces y los cuatro reinos’. The winning float featured a large music box with rotating gears and participants dressed as toy soldiers.

Four second-place prizes were awarded to the following entries: ‘Guardianes del Olimpo’ by El Cebollón, ‘Vaiana’ by Chupichusky’s, ‘Shrek’ by La Calavera, and ‘El latido del colibrí’ by El Trébol. The parade, which is recognized as a Regional Tourist Interest event, featured various themes ranging from Arabic motifs to Formula 1 and Monopoly.

Mayor Miguel Óscar Aparicio praised the creativity and hard work of the 25 public peñas, noting that the event is a central part of the September Festivals. The jury, composed of experts in education, culture, and communication, evaluated the floats based on originality, artistic execution, and staging, with additional input from the public.
