Las Toscas commemorates 210th anniversary of Argentine Independence
The municipality of Las Toscas held an official ceremony on July 9 to mark the 210th anniversary of Argentina’s Declaration of Independence. The event was led by Mayor Iván Sánchez, who was joined by council members, municipal officials, representatives of schools, religious leaders, security forces, Malvinas veterans and local residents. Sánchez emphasized that the date represents a pivotal moment in Argentine history and that independence must be defended daily through democracy, the separation of powers and citizen participation.
The ceremony began with a joint religious invocation by the parish priest and a local pastor, followed by artistic performances by students from three local schools, including a chacarera, the traditional Pericón Nacional and a specially prepared piece. The mayor called for continued responsibility, commitment and unity to strengthen institutions and build a freer, more prosperous community.
