Las Tunas receives new Yutong buses for Havana route

The Las Tunas National Bus Enterprise (UEB) has received four new Yutong buses to reinforce passenger transportation on the route between Las Tunas and Havana. These vehicles are intended to replace older units that have been in service for over ten years.

According to Yosvani Cedeño Tomás, director of the enterprise, the new fleet is part of a modernization strategy to improve efficiency amid national energy challenges and economic constraints. The Yutong buses offer significantly better fuel economy, achieving between 4 and 4.10 km per liter, which is nearly double the efficiency of the previous fleet.

The buses are equipped with 42 to 44 seats, air conditioning, televisions, mobile phone chargers, cup holders, and security cameras. The acquisition, funded by the Ministry of Transport, includes a maintenance agreement that guarantees spare parts for at least five years.

Official reception of the vehicles took place at the interprovincial terminal in the presence of Osbel Lorenzo Rodríguez, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba in Las Tunas. Travelers can make reservations through the established 'Viajeros' offices.
