Las Vegas Raiders defensive ends impress during preseason
Defensive players Kwity Paye and Patrick Johnson have emerged as notable performers for the Las Vegas Raiders during preseason activities and joint practices with the Houston Texans.
Kwity Paye, who signed a three-year, $48 million contract in March, showed significant improvement during a joint practice session with the Texans. After an unremarkable preseason opener and an earlier injury scare, Paye recorded two sacks against quarterback CJ Stroud in a single series, providing much-needed pressure on the Texans' offensive line.
Additionally, late-camp signing Patrick Johnson has made a strong case for a spot on the 53-man roster. Following a productive preseason opener, Johnson increased his workload during the game against Houston, recording four tackles and a crucial strip sack that shifted the game's momentum. His performance included three solo tackles and two tackles for loss.
