Las Vegas Raiders rebuild roster and clear salary cap burdens

The Las Vegas Raiders are undergoing a roster rebuild under general manager John Spytek and head coach Klint Kubiak following several seasons of poor performance and significant salary cap constraints.

The team is successfully clearing substantial dead cap hits from previous management decisions. By the 2026 season, the Raiders will no longer be responsible for large cap allocations for former players including Davante Adams ($15.7 million in 2025), Jimmy Garoppolo ($12.8 million in 2025), Gardner Minshew ($7.7 million in 2025), and Andre James ($7.3 million).

As the organization moves away from past financial burdens, the focus has shifted toward player development. During recent training camps, the coaching staff has emphasized providing opportunities to players of various experience levels, allowing individuals such as Hezekiah Masses, Treydan Stukes, Spencer Burford, and Patrick Johnson to emerge and exceed expectations.
