Las Vegas Walmart Shooting Ends with Police Killing of Gunman Travis Ward

A dispute escalated at a Walmart in the 5100 block of Boulder Highway, Las Vegas, Nevada, when Raqiyah Ward called her husband, Travis Dewayne Ward, to “bring a gun.” Ward entered the store around 6 a.m., fired at Kwame Swain during an argument, and then experienced a gun malfunction.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officer Cristóbal Magana arrived, ordered Ward to drop his weapon, and shot him as he ran toward the parking lot. Ward was killed at the scene, while Swain survived with injuries. The incident was captured on surveillance and body‑camera footage released by the department.
