American Airlines expands Venezuela network with new Miami-Barcelona route
American Airlines has announced the expansion of its operations in Venezuela with a new nonstop service between Miami and Barcelona, Anzoátegui. Scheduled to begin on January 15, 2027, the route will operate three times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays using Embraer E175 aircraft. This addition makes Barcelona the airline's third Venezuelan destination, joining existing services to Caracas and Maracaibo, bringing the company's total to 24 weekly frequencies in the country.
Separately, Laser Airlines is set to resume direct flights between Caracas and Aruba starting December 3. This marks the first time a Venezuelan airline has re-established regular connections to Aruba's Reina Beatrix International Airport since 2019. The service will operate twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays, providing a 45-minute connection between the two locations.
