Laser display technology trends highlighted at Beijing industry conference

The 7th Laser Display Technology and Industry Development Conference was held in Beijing, focusing on the evolution of large-screen displays. Industry experts and companies highlighted the shift toward tricolor laser technology, which offers superior color accuracy and flexibility for home and commercial use.

Hisense and its professional audio-visual brand, Vidda, showcased several innovative solutions designed to integrate large screens into home environments. Key products include the “Jiangshan Scroll R1,” a rollable laser cinema system that hides the screen when not in use, and the X1 Ultra, a 150-inch laser TV featuring integrated screen-based sound. Vidda presented a range of tricolor laser projectors, including the C5 series and M2 Pro, targeting both high-end home theaters and portable outdoor use.

Li Wei, President of Hisense Visual Technology, predicted that 120-inch laser TVs will become an industry mainstream within the next five years. This trend is driven by a significant increase in demand for large-format screens, with sales of 100-inch plus televisions growing by 892% over the past four years. The industry is moving beyond simple size increases toward “spatial display technology” that blends seamlessly with interior design.
