Lashkar-e-Taiba launches radicalisation drive in Jammu and Kashmir

Indian intelligence agencies, including the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the State Investigation Agency (SIA), have increased operations following reports of a radicalisation drive by Lashkar-e-Taiba in Jammu and Kashmir.

Intelligence reports indicate that the group has established dedicated units in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) to focus on radicalising youth. The strategy reportedly involves using individuals who have exfiltrated to Pakistan and PoK to contact relatives within Jammu and Kashmir to identify potential targets.

The SIA recently identified five individuals, including two women, who were allegedly in contact with handlers in Pakistan and PoK as part of these radicalisation attempts.
