Lassana Traoré returns to AS Saint-Étienne training

Senegalese left-back Lassana Traoré has returned to collective training with AS Saint-Étienne after nearly a year of absence. The 19-year-old defender had been sidelined by a serious hamstring injury that required surgery and a lengthy rehabilitation process.

Traoré, who joined the club from Diambars FC in June 2025, saw his early professional progress halted after appearing only briefly in a Ligue 2 match against Laval. While his return to training marks a significant milestone in his recovery, he must still regain match fitness before returning to official competition.

Due to limited playing time opportunities in the current Saint-Étienne squad, speculation has arisen regarding a potential loan move in January to ensure the player receives consistent competitive minutes.
