Lasse Nygaard Priester and Laura Philipp win Ironman 70.3 Zell am See-Kaprun

Germany’s Lasse Nygaard Priester and Laura Philipp secured victories at the Ironman 70.3 Zell am See-Kaprun in Austria. The event served as the final Experience Oman Ironman Pro Series competition before the World Championship season.

In the men’s race, Priester won after a decisive run, clocking a half marathon time of 1:10:58 to pull away from Jelle Geens. Geens finished second, with Tjebbe Kaindl rounding out the podium. The competition intensified during the cycling stage on the course’s signature climb, where Priester and Geens distanced themselves from the rest of the field.

In the women’s race, Laura Philipp took control early during the cycling portion to secure her win. She was followed on the podium by Austria’s Lisa Perterer and Great Britain’s India Lee. Philipp’s performance follows her recent victory at Ironman Kalmar.
