Last Man in Tower film set for September 11 release

The film ‘Last Man in Tower’, an adaptation of Aravind Adiga’s novel, is scheduled for theatrical release in India on September 11. Directed by Ben Rekhi and produced by Rana Daggubati’s Spirit Media, the project marks the first time actors Manoj Bajpayee and Boman Irani have appeared on screen together.

The story centers on Masterji, a retired schoolteacher whose decision to resist the wishes of his community creates conflict among his neighbors. The film explores themes of community, family, and the compromises made during turbulent times. The screenplay was written by Sooni Taraporevala, with Hindi dialogues by Juhi Chaturvedi. The cast also includes Divya Dutta and Sukant Goel.

For Spirit Media, the Hyderabad-based company founded by Daggubati, this production represents its first Hindi-language feature film.
