LATAM Airlines Brasil reports data breach affecting Latam Pass members

LATAM Airlines Brasil has reported a security incident involving the personal data of a limited number of members within its loyalty program, Latam Pass. The company detected the occurrence on July 29 and has since implemented containment measures and reinforced its digital security.

The potentially exposed information includes full names, dates of birth, email addresses, telephone numbers, and residential addresses. Additionally, loyalty program details such as membership numbers, categories, mile balances, and qualifying points may have been accessed.

Regarding financial data, the breach included partial credit card information, specifically the first six and last four digits, the card brand, the cardholder's name, and the expiration date. The company clarified that full credit card numbers, security codes, and passwords were not exposed.

LATAM has notified the affected customers and the National Data Protection Authority (ANPD) in compliance with the General Data Protection Law (LGPD). The airline has advised customers to remain vigilant against potential scams involving suspicious messages or calls.
