LATAM Airlines invests in fleet renewal and satellite connectivity

LATAM Airlines Group has announced significant investments in fleet modernization, connectivity, and sustainability. The airline is investing over $25 million to install multi-orbit satellite connectivity on more than 60 new Airbus and Embraer aircraft. This technology, developed in collaboration with SES, aims to provide fast and stable internet access to passengers regardless of flight location. LATAM Pass members will receive complimentary WiFi access as part of this initiative.

Additionally, the company has secured approximately $505 million in financing to incorporate 11 next-generation aircraft during the second half of 2026. About $400 million of this funding is tied to sustainability goals, featuring interest rate incentives linked to the reduction of CO2 emissions per unit transported. The fleet expansion includes Airbus A320neo, Airbus A321neo, and Embraer E195-E2 models. The airline expects to exceed 410 aircraft by the end of 2026 as part of its long-term growth and modernization strategy.
