LATAM Airlines to resume direct flights between Santiago and Caracas in 2027

LATAM Airlines has announced the resumption of direct flights between Santiago, Chile, and Caracas, Venezuela, scheduled to begin on January 3, 2027. The airline plans to operate four weekly frequencies on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays using Airbus A320neo aircraft.

The route is expected to take approximately six hours and forty minutes. LATAM projects that the new service will transport more than 50,000 passengers during its first year of operation. This move follows the suspension of operations between the two capitals in September 2024.

According to Juan José Tohá, Director of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at LATAM Airlines Group, the expansion aims to strengthen Venezuela's connectivity with major South American hubs. This new route joins the existing service connecting Caracas with Bogotá.
