Late Model Racecraft develops twin-turbo Corvette Z06

Houston-based automotive shop Late Model Racecraft has completed a twin-turbocharged conversion for a Chevrolet Corvette Z06. The project involved installing a pair of Precision air-to-water ball-bearing turbochargers, which owner Steven Fereday noted helps avoid the frequent maintenance required by grease-lubricated units.

To manage the increased heat from the forced induction, the build includes an air-to-water intercooling system with a heat exchanger. The modification also required comprehensive software updates, including custom engine and transmission control module tuning. These adjustments allow the dual-clutch transmission to manage the increased torque and enable the vehicle to run on 93-octane pump gas rather than the E85 fuel used in previous configurations.
