Latif Doğan inaugurates Ayşe Doğan Cultural and Condolence House in Doğanşehir

Turkish folk singer Latif Doğan laid the foundation stone for the Ayşe Doğan Cultural and Condolence House in Doğanşehir, the town where his mother was born and which was heavily damaged in the 6 February earthquakes. The ceremony, held on the fourth anniversary of his mother Ayşe Doğan’s death, was attended by Malatya Governor Seddar Yavuz, Doğanşehir Kaymakam Ahmet Fatih Sungur, mayor Mehmet Bayram, and representatives of local NGOs and political parties.

Governor Yavuz highlighted the wider reconstruction effort, noting that 125,000 independent housing units have been built across Malatya province and 7,850 units in Doğanşehir alone since the disaster. He praised the contributions of philanthropists and thanked Latif Doğan and his family for their support. Latif Doğan expressed gratitude to the community, saying, “We earned this from the people and we share it with the people.”
