Latin American artists release new music exploring identity and folklore

Venezuelan singer-songwriter Mari La Carajita has released her debut studio album, ‘Ya se fue Nana?’, through AP Global Music. The ten-track project explores Latin identity through various musical styles, including Latin pop and salsa. The album is inspired by family memories and childhood experiences, specifically referencing the figure of ‘Nana,’ an aunt who helped raise the artist.

In a separate development in Latin American folklore, Colombian singer Marta Gómez and Peruvian artist Susana Baca have released a new single titled ‘Dentro de mi piel.’ This collaboration marks their first joint musical effort in eleven years, following a previous encounter in 2015. The song focuses on themes of identity, memory, and the preservation of ancestral rhythms and territories.
