Latin American Business Expos Spur Industrial Partnerships

The 10th edition of DIVEX opened in Guanajuato, Mexico, bringing together 32 buying firms and 50 supplier companies with the goal of generating more than 800 business meetings across sectors such as personal‑protective equipment, packaging, plastics, chemicals, machinery, specialized services and IT. State officials, including Secretary of Economy Claudia Cristina Villaseñor Aguilar, highlighted the event as a tool to boost competitiveness, integrate firms into value chains and support the region’s industrial transformation.

In Hidalgo, Mexico, the Secretariat of Economic Development (SEDECO) hosted the Expo Proveeduría de Productos Hidalguenses 2026, linking 40 micro, small and medium enterprises with major retailers including SHEIN, Walmart, Chedraui, OXXO and Tienda UNAM. SEDECO’s director Carlos Henkel Escorza and SHEIN’s government‑relations head Juan de Dios Vázquez Álvarez signed a collaboration agreement to help local textile and manufacturing firms join SHEIN’s e‑commerce platform, aiming to raise sales and create jobs.

Costa Rica launched the Expo Supply Chain 2026 and the ALACAT Congress, attracting participants from more than 16 countries. The two‑day program featured over 10 talks and panels on trade challenges, technological transformation and sustainable logistics. ACACIA president Marcos Pérez called the event a milestone for the nation’s logistics sector, emphasizing its role in fostering regional commerce and strategic partnerships.
