Latin American business faces regulatory hurdles and digital expansion

Corporate real estate transformation in Latin America is facing unique hurdles compared to global trends. According to a JLL Research report, regulatory complexity and compliance represent 35% of the primary restrictions to creating value in corporate real estate, followed by a 33% shortage of specialized technical labor. While global markets focus heavily on AI and emerging technology skill gaps, Latin American organizations are more significantly impacted by regulatory environments and workforce availability.

In a separate development regarding the region's digital economy, TEAM International has announced the expansion of TEAMCX into Mexico. The company has committed a $250 million investment into the regional economy over the next three years to enhance customer experience (CX) through digital tools and artificial intelligence.

The digital economy in Latin America is currently valued at approximately $550 billion, or 8.2% of the regional GDP, and is projected to reach $680 billion by 2030. Experts suggest that the integration of AI and digital tools could contribute up to $1 trillion to the region's GDP by 2038.
