Latin American environmental projects focus on water reuse and urban regeneration

In Argentina, authorities in Río Negro are presenting progress on a technical cooperation agreement focused on reusing treated wastewater from the Ingeniero Jacobacci sewage treatment plant. The project, which involves several institutions including the National Agricultural Technology Institute (INTA) and the National University of Río Negro, aims to utilize treated water for agricultural and forestry irrigation to support local production and environmental management.

In Chile, the NICOLE Latin America network has selected the Las Salinas project in Viña del Mar for a technical visit during its regional meeting. The project focuses on the sustainable regeneration of an urban area with an industrial past through soil remediation. The visit aims to connect researchers, public agencies, and industry experts to share experiences in environmental management and new technologies for urban regeneration.
