Latin American financial institutions report capital growth
Caja de Ahorros in Panama is strengthening its equity structure by increasing its primary capital to B/. 330 million. This follows a favorable concept from the Executive Branch to capitalize B/. 41.4 million from retained earnings. General Manager Andrés Farrugia stated that this move aims to support the institution's growth strategy and meet the needs of Panamanian families and businesses while preparing for evolving financial requirements.
In Peru, Caja Piura has reported significant financial growth, with equity exceeding S/ 1,032 million and net profits reaching S/ 207.3 million as of August 2026. Under the leadership of Board President Javier Bereche, the institution has achieved a 30% year-on-year growth in equity, ranking it as the second municipal savings and credit bank with the highest equity growth in the country. The entity also successfully integrated the equity block of the former Caja Sullana.
