Latin American M&A market reaches 60 billion USD in value

The mergers and acquisitions (M&A) market in Latin America mobilized 60.159 billion USD (52.017 billion EUR) between January and July 2026, according to TTR Data. While the total number of transactions saw a 26% year-on-year decrease, the total value only fell by 4%, indicating a shift toward larger, higher-quality deals.

Brazil remains the most active market with 744 transactions, and despite a 31% drop in volume, the capital mobilized rose by 19% to 36.358 billion USD. Other notable regional trends include a 329% surge in transaction value in Peru and significant value increases in Argentina (36%) and Colombia (36%).

In Brazil specifically, the M&A market recorded 1,582 transactions in 2025, a 5% increase from the previous year according to KPMG. Experts note that successful deal closures increasingly depend on corporate preparation, as many transactions fail during due diligence due to poor governance, inconsistent financial data, or excessive founder dependency.
