Latin American museum exhibitions showcase art, memory and cultural dialogue

In Puerto Viejo, Argentina, the Museo Puerto de la Memoria opened a free exhibition of works created in its workshops. Over 20 sessions brought together children, youth and adults to explore theatre, music, photography, ceramics, folk dance, screen‑printing, animation and other practices. The programme also included health‑focused activities such as nutrition talks and cognitive‑stimulation workshops for older adults. Museum director Gisela Bahler said the event fostered “identity maturation” and strengthened community ties.

In Valparaíso, Chile, the Museo Universitario del Grabado at the Universidad de Playa Ancha hosted the launch of the catalogue “Racconto” by visual artist Leonardo Portus. The presentation featured a dialogue with academics, including curator José de Nordenflycht and anthropologist Francisca Márquez, discussing the artist’s use of maquettes to reflect on urban architecture and sites of human‑rights violations. The project was supported by the Ministry of Cultures, the Arts and Heritage.
