Latin American music festivals drive economic and cultural impact
The Festival Cordillera recently concluded its fifth edition at Parque Simón Bolívar, attracting 70,000 attendees. The event saw significant participation from both domestic travelers (26.3%) and international visitors (13.7%). The festival generated an estimated economic impact of over $80 billion, benefiting sectors such as hospitality, transport, and gastronomy, while contributing approximately $2.3 billion in parafiscal contributions and supporting over 55,000 jobs.
Additionally, the festival launched ‘Ecos por la Amazonía,’ an initiative by Páramo Impact and NESsT to protect the Amazon rainforest through an impact investment fund driven by music and culture. Every transaction at the festival contributes to the protection of 1,200 square meters of jungle.
In Argentina, the Bolívar Fest 2026 is scheduled for Sunday, September 20, at the Centro Cívico in San Carlos de Bolívar. The lineup features popular cumbia and cuarteto artists, including Q’ Lokura, Banda XXI, Jean Carlos, and Me Dicen Fideo. The event is expected to draw crowds from across the province.
