Latin American Network for Women's Political Participation established

Electoral authorities, specialized organizations, and government agencies from nine Latin American countries have formally established the Latin American Network of Observatories and Mechanisms for Women's Political Participation. The network aims to create a regional space for collaboration and the exchange of information and expertise to promote women's involvement in politics.

Key objectives of the network include the development of comparative indicators and analyses regarding political parity, alternation, political violence, and financing. The initiative seeks to foster alliances between public institutions, academia, multilateral organizations, and civil society. The Mexican National Electoral Institute (INE) has assumed the first presidency of the network.
