Latin American pizzerias achieve international recognition

Latin American pizzerias are gaining international recognition in global culinary competitions. In Argentina, Paraguayan pizza maker Martín Dumm, representing Bayres, secured sixth place at the World Pizza Championship held in Buenos Aires.

Dumm has had a successful year, previously earning a bronze medal at the Pan American Pizza Championship in Brazil and fourth place at the European Gourmet Pizza Championship in Spain. He specializes in porteño-style pan pizza.

In Chile, the restaurant Brunapoli has qualified for the 50 Top Pizza World event in Naples, Italy. After ranking 13th in the 50 Top Pizza Latin America 2026, the establishment received a ‘Golden Ticket’ to compete among the world’s top 100 pizzerias. Brunapoli, which was the first pizzeria in Santiago certified by the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana, also received the ‘Made in Italy 2026’ special award for its commitment to authentic Italian gastronomic culture.
