Latin American real-time payments grow 29% amid banking delays
Real-time payment adoption in Latin America is experiencing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 29.2%, according to an ACI Worldwide report. This surge is driven by corporations seeking to overcome the inefficiencies of traditional banking systems, which often require 24 to 48 hours for fund settlements. Approximately 60% of regional corporations report operational efficiency losses due to these delayed processing windows.
To address the fragmentation of the regional market, payment orchestration platform Yuno and service provider PayRetailers have announced a strategic alliance. The partnership aims to simplify expansion for international brands by allowing them to process local collections and disbursements across eight key markets, including Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Costa Rica, and Argentina, through a single integration. This collaboration seeks to bypass the regulatory and operational hurdles of establishing local legal entities and banking licenses in each individual territory.
