Latin American university students win innovation and advertising awards in Chile
Students from various Latin American universities achieved significant recognition at international competitions held in Chile.
A team from the Universidad de Valparaíso (UV) secured first place at the Rally Latinoamericano de Innovación 2026. Their winning project, ‘Nexo-Sostenible’, focuses on the ecological management of urban pruning waste and plant biomass. The competition involved over 13,600 university students from across the region, including participants from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, and several other nations.
In a separate achievement, six students from Universidad de Las Américas (UDLA) Ecuador, competing as ‘Agencia BOLD’, won the award for Best Strategic Design at the COMUNICADV 2026 international advertising contest. Organized by the Universidad de Las Américas in Chile, the competition required students to develop advertising campaigns for real-world challenges within a limited timeframe. The winning campaign addressed a challenge related to the Chilean organization Fundación Coanil.
