Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants highlights Uruguay and Chicago

The Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025 ranking has released its 51-100 list, highlighting several key establishments. Uruguay saw three destinations included: Parador La Huella in José Ignacio (83), Manzanar in Montevideo (86), and Lo de Tere in Punta del Este (92). Uruguay XXI noted that these inclusions enhance the country’s visibility as a gastronomic destination and help build a national brand associated with culinary identity.

The top of the 2025 rankings featured El Chato in Bogotá, Colombia, at number one. Other top-five establishments included Kjolle in Lima, Don Julio in Buenos Aires, Mérito in Lima, and Celele in Cartagena.

Simultaneously, Chicago-based restaurants Mi Tocaya Antojería, Birrierías Ocotlán, and Gorditas Santiago received recognition in regional culinary selections.
