Latin dance community events return to Edmonton and Prince Albert

Community Latin dance events are returning to various locations in Canada. In Edmonton, the ‘Salsa in the Square’ series is entering its fifth year. Organized by ETOWN SALSA, the event offers free lessons every Tuesday throughout September at Churchill Square. The program includes beginner-friendly instruction for dances such as Merengue, Cumbia, Bachata, Salsa, Chacha, and Mambo, followed by social dancing. The series will conclude on September 29 with live music from the band Rumba Caliente.

In Prince Albert, the Margo Fournier Arts Centre hosted a second ‘Salsa at Kinsmen Park’ event following a successful debut in June. The session featured guided lessons in Bachata and Salsa, aimed at bringing diverse community members together in a public park setting. The event was inspired by similar dance initiatives in Saskatoon.
