The Latin Recording Academy has announced new regulatory frameworks for the 27th Latin Grammy Awards in 2026, specifically addressing the use of artificial intelligence. Under the new rules, works utilizing AI are eligible for entry and awards provided there is significant human authorship and participation. The Academy clarified that while AI can assist in production, only humans are eligible for nominations and awards, ensuring technology serves as a tool rather than a replacement for artistic authorship.

Additionally, the 2026 regulations introduce stricter eligibility criteria for the Best New Artist category to protect emerging talent by limiting the number of previously released works. The Producer of the Year category will also require a minimum of five total credits.
